Behind the Op ("we," "us," "our") operates the Behind the Op mobile app and website at behindtheop.com (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information We Collect

• Account information: first name, last name, email address, city, state, and how you describe your dental assisting background.
• Verification information: if you request a Verified badge, your credential type, credential number, the state or province and country where it was issued, the issuing authority, its expiration date, and any optional background you add such as training program, graduation year, or years of experience. This information is kept private and is never shown on your public profile or reviews.
• Reviews and office content: the office reviews, ratings, pros, cons, and office details you post, along with your display name and whether you post anonymously.
• Usage and analytics: aggregate, de-identified usage data that helps us understand how the Service is used and improve it.

3. Device Permissions

The app may request the following device permissions. Each is optional and used only for the feature described:

• Camera and photo library: used only if you choose to upload an image, such as an office photo, when you add or edit content. We do not access your camera or photos at other times.
• Notifications: if you enable push notifications, we may send you service updates. You can turn notifications off in your device settings at any time.
• Network access: used to load content and save your reviews and account.

We do not access your contacts, location services, microphone, calendar, or health data.

4. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account and verify your identity for the Verified badge.
• To display your reviews and ratings and show office content to other users.
• To send transactional emails such as account security notices, and, if you opt in, occasional updates.
• To provide support and respond to your questions.
• To maintain the integrity of reviews and prevent abuse, spam, and fake content.

5. How We Share Information

Your reviews and office content are public and visible to other users. Your account details and verification information are not shown publicly. We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers described below, or when required by law.

6. Third-Party Services

• Google: powers the optional "Continue with Google" sign-in. See policies.google.com/privacy.
• Email provider: delivers transactional and optional emails on our behalf.
• Hosting and infrastructure: the platform that hosts the app and stores your data.

7. Data Retention

We keep your account and review data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and personal data at any time by contacting us.

8. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is fully secure, but we work to protect your data and never store payment card numbers.

9. Your Rights

10. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a minor has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
